to clarify. Addiction means physical addiction, you can be psychologically addicted to anything. No risk of cancer means that smoking marijuana adds no additional risk to the average risk. and detrimental effects are anything that inhibit normal function.

obviously if they dont know how to properly smoke then they won’t enjoy it meaning more than likely won’t try it again and i HIGHLY doubt they will get addicted by smoking one cigar in the wrong manor. by young adults i mean 16-17ish. i like how you suggest marijuana as an alternative…it being illegal and all makes the risk of smoking marijuana much higher for yourself. i have plenty of friends that “aren’t addicted” to it, yet they spends HUNDREDS of dollars every week on it.

Legalize it and everything will be fine. We put too much trust in our governments these days. And your friends who spend hundreds on marijuana have a problem (much like a obese person has a problem with food…this is psychological addiction NOT physical)…. Also I still maintain that tobacco should be avoided until after the “cool” age for smoking cigarretes, the number one time to develop a tobacco addiction.

I’m fine legalizing it. I could careless who’s doing it as long as they don’t effect others around them. but ok so why would this kid not be prone to getting a psychological addiction? anyone is susceptible making IT just as bad as tobacco correct? and to top it off it’s illegal. bad advise to be spreading if you don’t have good advice don’t leave any at all.

correct! anyone can become psychologically addicted to anything…lets ban all fast food, cough syrup, and the countless other things that people become addicted to. if a person is prone to addiction they should stay away from all psychoactives(alcoholics know this). And how is it bad advice to be spreading something illegal, if even you agree to legalizing it. Your a hypocrite, and a fool…you are one of the many that blindly accept the fate imposed upon you by the government.

Does fast food and the “countless” other things cost people hundreds and hundreds of dollars? Didn’t think so. Were you or were you not just suggesting that instead of a young adult doing tobacco to do something that could get them into a whole lot more legal issues than tobacco? and you think this is right? even though weed can also lead a particular young adult to trying other types of drugs that ARE physically addictive. dont think fast food can do that.

I was NOT telling a teenager to try marijuana, if you read I was actually simply replying to other comments on marijuana. I am completely against use of any psychoactive by anyone but responsible adults. Who cares about legal issues, when my rights as a human being are on the line. and the “gateway” theory is old and disproven many times over. Do your research.
